Release notes

What changed, version by version.

Every Shikigami release, newest first. The app updates itself, so you don’t need this page to stay current. It’s here for when you want to know what changed.

New

  • Teams in the sidebar: agents in a group now sit together under a team header you can fold and unfold. In the collapsed sidebar each team has its own tile; hover it to see its agents, or click to expand it in place.
  • Workspace tabs show how many agents are working and whether any need input or have hit an error. Hover a tab for a card listing its agents and click one to jump straight to it; tabs are also a little wider and can be reached with the keyboard.
  • Agent configurations can now have a role and a first message, up to 7,000 characters each. The role shapes how the agent behaves, and the first message is sent when it starts.
  • When you resume an agent that has no saved conversation, the app now tells you it’s starting a new one.

Improved

  • Saved prompts and agent configurations have a new home, and your existing ones are copied over on first launch. If that storage is ever damaged, the app sets it aside and tells you.
  • PHP completion stays up to date with files changed outside the editor, for example by an agent or a branch switch, even while the editor was hidden.
  • On macOS, busy folders such as node_modules and vendor no longer slow things down while lots of files are changing.

Fixed

  • Resuming an agent no longer sends its first message again.
  • PHP auto-import no longer adds a pointless use line for global classes such as DateTime in a file without a namespace, and now imports classes from a sub-namespace correctly.
  • A failed Composer refresh no longer leaves you without completion for your installed packages.
  • The active workspace tab’s name is readable again in the light theme.

Shikigami 0.51.0 4 new 3 improved 3 fixed

New

  • Agent groups. Put agents into a named, coloured group with its own header bar, and minimize the whole group to the dock when it’s in the way.
  • Agents can start and remove other agents, and a started agent joins its caller’s group. It’s an opt-in switch on top of delegation, off by default.
  • A workspace now holds up to 24 agents, up from 8.
  • The Add Agent dialog picks the worktree, model and group from one picker.

Improved

  • Git History stays narrow on busy branches: long edges and deep merges fold into short spurs that jump to the other end. Each commit now shows its date too.
  • The delegation tools explain themselves better to agents: result states, one message per peer, absolute file paths.
  • Dragging the split divider or resizing the window stays smooth. Terminals and the editor hold still during the drag and refit once at the end.

Fixed

  • Esc no longer cancels a Save and Quit that’s already running.
  • Removing an agent waits for its terminals to exit before it deletes the worktree.
  • A failed start no longer marks a running agent as errored.
Shikigami 0.50.0 6 new 3 improved 3 fixed

New

  • An Assets panel for browsing a project’s images and sending them to an agent.
  • Each agent’s pane header shows where it’s working: the path and the git branch.
  • Several agents can share one pre-created worktree.
  • If an agent’s CLI isn’t installed, you get a setup guide for it.
  • opencode agents report token and context usage.
  • Mistral Vibe joins Claude Code, Codex and opencode as an agent engine, with live status, usage and resumable sessions.

Improved

  • Context usage resets when you run /clear or start a new chat in Claude Code or Codex.
  • A failed update check says what went wrong, retries once, then stops polling.
  • When git status fails, the branch widget says why instead of spinning: no repository, git not found, git blocked, or the git error itself.

Fixed

  • The workspace tab strip scrolls once there are more tabs than fit.
  • Find usages and Go to definition land on the target line and close the peek.
  • An older build no longer drops settings that a newer version wrote.
